Just heard this on KROQ here in Los Angeles this morning while driving to the gym.

"...and the Foo Fighters will be performing with, and we know this won't mean anything to most of you.. but a famous Jazz piano player named Chick... Chick Corea."

I kid you not.

Good for Chick. I wonder who is going to be in Chick's band?

Chick is a perfect example of a person that aspires to whatever he invisions. He conjures up the greatest bands and music - AND , from my experience, he's a real treat to be around. He is definately one of the most together people I have met. ( I wish I could say- played with : )
I don't know any drummer that wouldn't want to play with him.

My bad.
I thought Dave's band and Chick's band were scheduled separately.

I actually saw the Foo Fighters in New York a couple of years ago. I actually liked the opening act better.-Queens of the Stone Age. They rocked a lot harder. The drummer had a huge sound.

I went because an engineer that I know had extra tickets and James Genus told me that Hawkins is one of the best rock drummers he has heard. (he heard him on the SNL show).
He looked good, but his sound was wimpy at that show.

I saw the Foo's not too long ago and they completely ROCKED! Very intense. Taylor was killing it and the mix was incredible. I thought that the Grammy performance was unrehearsed. It would have been a lot better if they had spent some time with the arrangement. Overall,I thought that the house mixes for everyone were awful. That is probably the worst sounding Grammy show I'm aware of.
